The NEW CURV Beds are Here!

I posted on the new CURV by Simmons beds a few weeks ago, and we’ve finally gotten them listed on the website!  You should really check them out, the product is great, and the price is even better.

Here’s some quick info on CURV beds:

  • They aren’t price regulated.  What does that mean to you?  That we have the lowest prices, guaranteed.  We shop everyone else, and make sure that we’re the cheapest.
  • The two better models have gel memory foam.  What?  A cool night’s sleep for under $1000?  It’s possible.
  • All models come with a ten year warranty.
  • All models work great on adjustable bases.
  • All models are designed and built in the USA.
  • All models are CertiPUR-US certified, meaning that they passed the non-toxic tests, and you can breathe easily.
  • They’re marketed towards the “Millenial” generation, but they’re great for anyone to sleep on every night, for guest rooms, for kids, for RVs, for anything!

The Best Mattress for You AND Your Partner, Together

I have told my customers hundreds of times “finding the best mattress for you is the most difficult thing that you can shop for”.  There are so many different choices, you’re never sure if you’re getting a good deal, and how are you supposed to know if you’ve got the best mattress until you’ve been sleeping on it for a few weeks?  As difficult as each of those problems are, to me, there is an even more difficult facet of buying a mattress.

Compromise.

Many, if not most, of our customers are couples that both sleep on the same bed.  And while the dynamics of every relationship are different, there is usually a “decider” and a “go-along”.  This “go-along” often says that they can sleep on anything, that the “decider” has worse back problems, or that their comfort isn’t as important as the “decider’s”.

Is Your Mattress the Best Mattress for You?Alright, “go-alongs”:  I am as much of a fan of choosing your battles as the next person, but this is a battle worth choosing.  Why?

  1. You are going to spend a THIRD of your life on this mattress, for the next ten years.  Don’t you deserve to be comfortable, as much as your partner?  If there is a possibility, even if it’s slight, that you won’t sleep well for TEN years, isn’t it worth looking into?  That’s 29,200 hours of tossing and turning.  You deserve the best mattress for your body type and support needs.
  2. Your partner’s back might be worse now, but who’s to say that yours won’t catch up?  Or that your hip and shoulder pain is less important?  Or that you won’t DEVELOP back pain from sleeping on a mattress that isn’t the best for you?
  3. One word: RESENTMENT.  If you’re not sleeping well, you will resent your partner for not only choosing the bed, but for sleeping well on it while you’re up at night.

Not to worry, if there cannot be a happy medium, there are other solutions that don’t involve separate bedrooms.  Here are some ideas so that everyone can be happy, rested, and pain free:

  • If you’re buying a king, you may want to consider two twin extra-long beds placed next to each other on a frame.  This set up is exactly the same dimensions as a king size, so your sheets and covers won’t be different.  We even have a device that will strap them together, and fill in the center crevice, called a Create-a-King.  We can help you select mattresses that will be the same height, and that way each person has their own unique feel and support.  This idea is also used all the time with adjustable bases…

So for all you “go-along” partners, remember that you deserve to be comfortable too.  Sure, there are times that giving in is easier than fighting for what you really want, and I’m a big proponent of letting everyone win every once in a while.  But don’t forget that this new purchase is a mattress, and can make your life great, or really exhausting and uncomfortable.  Your choice.

Air Adjustable Beds

Air mattresses are a great option for those with changing medical conditions, or for couples who each want their own personalized feel. But did you know that air mattresses are also great for use on adjustable bases? In fact, most hospitals now use air mattresses on their hospital beds!

There are many reasons to purchase air adjustable beds. If you already have a condition that is improved by an airbed, you may also be benefitted by adding the adjustable base. Arthritis, fibromyalgia, joint pain, acid reflux, vertigo, bad circulation, and diabetes are all aided by using an adjustable bed. Talk to your doctor about how one might help you. In addition to medical reasons, they are great for watching TV in bed, working on your laptop, or reading a book before bed.

There are many adjustable bed mattresses on the market, why would an air mattress be your choice? Endlessly bendable without a chance of sagging, air mattresses are much more durable than innerspring or even foam mattresses. They are also great because you can firm them up for comfortable sitting, but then deflate them to be softer for sleeping. You can adjust the feel for any position you put yourself in!

With so many adjustable beds for sale, which base would make the best adjustable bed for you? Most models have head and foot movement; some have a massage/vibration feature (which works great with the air mattress). It’s advisable to stay away from a heat element, but otherwise, the sky is the limit! Take a critical look at what you’d use, now and in the future, and purchase accordingly.

When you order your mattress, make sure that you check with the manufacturer that it’s approved to work on adjustable bases. They might have to do a simple modification to the edge support, to make sure that it’s as flexible as it needs to be. Also, some of the thicker mattresses with thicker padding may not be approved. If you are not purchasing the mattress and the base from the same company, make sure that you let the company that you’re purchasing the air mattress from that it’s for an adjustable base.

Finally, search out the adjustable beds sale. There are always coupons, deals, discounts, and accommodations out there for those who look for them. Get the best deal that you can, and then sleep comfortably!
